On 6th October, Years 8 and 9 had the opportunity to welcome a special visitor to our school who came to introduce us to ‘See Her Run’, an inspiring running group created especially for females.
During the assembly, we learnt about how See Her Run encourages girls to become more active, build confidence and enjoy running in a friendly and supportive environment.
The group meets twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Runners meet at the Sail Statue, beside the Radisson Hotel, at around 4:00pm. The running session then begins at 4:15pm and finishes at approximately 5:00pm.
See Her Run is a non-competitive group, which means there is no pressure to run fast or compete against others. Everyone can run at their own pace, making it a welcoming activity for both beginners and experienced runners.
We also heard about ‘She Starts Here’, a programme designed specifically for teenage girls. The programme is inclusive and welcomes neurodiverse participants, helping to create a safe and supportive space where everyone can take part.
Another great thing about See Her Run is that it is completely free to join. Anyone interested can sign up by completing an online registration form.
It was fantastic to learn about an opportunity that encourages girls to get active, meet new people and build confidence. Whether you are already a keen runner or have never run before, See Her Run is a great place to start!
